Bringing a different voice to your people or your inner critic.

โ€” My Story โ€”

What led me to finally call quits, was an experience so many can relate to. I was in a field I cared forโ€”pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology while actively practicing therapy. But after 10 years of it, I kept hitting a wall of burnout.

I was brimming with ideas on creative things to do in my spare timeโ€”and knew the good it would do to meโ€”but between me not having the energy to even do them, to colleagues telling me that โ€œyouโ€™d have time for it laterโ€...I kept leaving it, until I just quit my job.

I didnโ€™t know what was coming next, but something had to change. And that moment became the beginning of a journey that would take me back full circle to psychologyโ€”but with new textures and layers of understanding of our modern, shared experience.

โ€” My Experience  โ€”

From 10 years of working towards a PhD in Clinical Psychology at Illinois Tech, Iโ€™ve had the incredible opportunity to research and run clinical studies on DEI and eating behaviors in womenโ€”before working in university counseling, hospitals, and private practices for therapy and neuropsychology.

Now partnering with institutions and businesses as a speaker and trainer, people frequently come up to me later to say that the talk wasnโ€™t long enough; that it spoke to something they hadnโ€™t heard before. And thatโ€™s exactly the goal.

In an age where weโ€™re always told to do more, work harder, we need to learn how to rest. The social script of creativity & joy being โ€œuselessโ€ needs to change into embracing it as a force that makes us more self-connected and productive. And to kindle that perspective, Iโ€™d love to bring it to you.
